12th Annual Run The D.O.G. St. 5k

The 12th Annual Run The D.O.G. ST 5K is scheduled and will be held on April 17th, 2021 as a hybrid live and virtual event.   Due to the restrictions for in-person gatherings, the in-person live event is currently closed to new entries.  We will reopen this part of the event if restrictions are lifted or if space becomes available.

You can and are encouraged to participate as a virtual runner or walker.  Virtual participants must be signed up by 6 PM April 16th, 2021.

Virtual participants can complete any 5k distance from the time they sign up until April 30th, 2021.

Once a Virtual 5k distance is completed submit your time in RunSignUp or to Colonial Sports and we will enter it into the race results. Virtual participants are not eligible for overall or age group awards.

Virtual participants can count towards any Team total for the largest Team or largest donor. ( Funds raised)

  • Race Day Packet Pickup at the START LINE  6:30 AM – 7:30 AM
  • Start Line is on Prince George St. between Nassau St. and Henry St.
  • Two Shilling Mile Begins at 7:00 AM. at the Finish Line on Duke of Gloucester St.
  • 5K Wheelchair/Handicapped Begins at 7:25 AM.
  • 5K Run/Run Walk/Competitive Walk Begins at:
    • Wave 1: 7:30 AM.
    • Wave 2: 7:35 AM
    • Wave 3: 7:40 AM…each succeeding Wave is 5 minutes apart
  • Awards Ceremony at 9:00 AM

START: The race starts on Prince George St. (the Start line is halfway between Nassau and Henry Streets) runs through the College of William and Mary and Colonial Williamsburg ending on Duke of Gloucester St. Runners will pass the Governor’s Palace and the Colonial Capitol building before finishing the final 800 meters on the most famous street in America, the Duke of Gloucester Street.

Age groups begin at 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-19, then 5 year increments extending to 80 and over.

FINISH: The Finish is on Duke of Gloucester St. (D.O.G. St.) near the Bruton Parish Church.

AWARDS: Top three overall men and women receive cash awards – 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50. The top three finishers in each age group receive a custom medal. Overall Masters Male and female receive a cash award of $50.  Two Shilling Mile and 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Tech Tee given to all 5K participants signed up by Tuesday, April 13th, 2021.
