Join us on Saturday, August 10, 2019 for the CDR SuperHero 5K Run/Walk and the ALL NEW SuperHero Family Challenge, Williamsburg’s first family obstacle course race!
This is the 12th Annual SuperHero 5K, a Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix Event. The race route is paved and mostly flat. Registration includes chip timing and a t-shirt.
The SuperHero Family Challenge is an easy but FUN obstacle course, open to families with children 12 and under of all abilities. It will consist of up to ten obstacles over a grassy course, and is stroller friendly. The obstacles were designed in conjunction with CDR’s therapists and specialists, tying this event directly to our goals of providing therapy through play. Adult registration is paid for by a CDR board member with a child registration. Includes a t-shirt and medal for every child.
All activities take place near the Clubhouse at the Vineyards at Jockey’s Neck.
ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS FRIDAY, AUGUST 9 AT NOON. RACE DAY REGISTRATION FROM 7 TO 8:00 AM.

Packet pick-up will be Friday, August 9 from noon to 6:00 pm at the CDR office in Norge (150 Point O’Woods Rd, Williamsburg) and race day starting at 7:00 am.

The race starts on Prince George St. (the Start line is halfway between Nassau and Henry Streets) runs through the College of William and Mary and Colonial Williamsburg ending on Duke of Gloucester St. Runners will pass the Colonial Governors mansion and the Colonial Capitol building before finishing the final 800 meters on the most famous street in America, the Duke of Gloucester Street.
Age groups begin at 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-19, then 5 year increments extending to 80 and over.
Awards top three overall men and women receive cash awards 1st $350, 2nd $200, 3rd $100. Top three finishers in each age group receive a custom medal. Overall Masters male and female receive cash award of $100. Top three male and female masters receive a custom medal. Top three male and female walkers receive a custom medal. Three Team awards, Fastest Team, Largest Team and Largest Donation. Winning Teams receive custom plaque. Fun Run and 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Tech T for all 5K participants signed up by Apr 6th, 2018.
The Finish is on Duke of Gloucester St. (D.O.G. St.) near the Bruton Parish Church.

Half Marathon Runners
Start at 8:30 AM on Nassau Street adjacent to the Dewitt Wallace Art Museum in Colonial Williamsburg, follow Nassau St. to Prince George St. turn right on Prince George St, you’ll enter the historical Colonial Williamsburg, run past the Governor’s mansion and turn left on Nicholson St., then right on Waller St and take a right at the bus stop and enter the path leading pass the Capitol Building and onto the Duke of Gloucester St., Run towards the Armory building and then turn left to cross Francis St. and onto S. England St., then pick up the traditional course (see map) running out and back on the Carters Grove Country Road. On the last leg to the finish, runners take a left on Newport Ave and then right on Nassau up fortitude Hill to the finish.
All finishing participants will receive a long Sleeve performance T-Shirt, Finisher’s Medal and a free entry pass to the “Post Race Celebration” complimentary beer.
Awards: Cash Awards to top three Overall men and women. $500 1st, $300 2nd and $200 3rd. Medals for the Top ten overall men and women, Top three men and women Masters and Grand Masters and top 3 in the following Age Group Category, 16 and Under, 17-19, five years increment age groups 20-24 through 75 and over. Top 3 men and women in the Competitive Walkers.

Start at 8:45 AM on Nassau St. Follow Nassau to Prince George, left on Prince George, right on Scotland St, right on Nassau and left on Prince George. enter Historic Colonial Williamsburg run past the Governor’s Mansion and left onto Nicholson St., turn right onto Waller St. then right at the bus stop and pick up the path running by the Capitol Building and onto the Duke of Gloucester St. take a left just pass the Armory cross Francis St. and then right on Newport Ave and right on Nassau up fortitude hill and straight to the finish.

Awards: Medals are awarded to the top three men and women overall, Top three men and women Masters and Grand Masters, top three male and female 14 and under and then five year age groups from 15-19 through 80 and over. Top 3 men and women in the Competitive Walkers.
Both races are a Healthy Heart! Healthy Mind! event. A portion of the proceeds benefit Men and Women of Vision and Purpose (MWVP). A program dedicated to mentoring at risk youth for success in life through High School graduation, entrance into college or trade school and life after college.
Additionally, donations can be made to the Daniel G. and Rosemary B. Stimson Track Endowment at W&M. For 39 years, the Colonial Half Marathon and 5K benefited the Track and Field program at College of William and Mary. The past success and legacy of this event is due to the guidance and leadership of the College of William and Mary’s Track and Field coaches, in particular, Coach Daniel Stimson. Coach Stimson was the College of William and Mary’s Director of Track and Field as well as the Colonial Half Marathon Race Director for 25 years. Coach Stimson passed away in Oct. of 2017.
